During the Summer of 2019, as part of my role as English Lead, a decision was made to create a new set of books for the centre. The centre based its work around a set of books across all year groups, consisting of 18 textbooks following the English curriculum.
During the years in which I had been teaching, a noticeable gap had been spotted where language analysis was one of the key weak points within the academic knowledge of the students. Therefore, a new set of 6 analysis-based books were created - focusing on the use of language and creative writing in preparation for the GCSE requirements.
Alongside the new language books, an Early English book was created in order to help young children grasp the alphabet, understand phonics and pick up on basic comprehension-based-instructions.
Furthermore, a set of books revolving around the Year 2 and Year 6 SATs were created, ensuring the curriculum guidelines were met in a challenging and informative manner.
